Our story began in 1960 in South London, England. Where shoe repairing was more than a trade, it was a way of life passed down through generations. The journey started in a small but trusted shop known as Speed Way Shoe Repairs, where precision, care, and attention to detail built a loyal community of customers.
Growing up in a family of skilled cobblers, Mario developed a deep respect for quality workmanship and the value of restoring rather than replacing. That same dedication has carried through decades of experience and thousands of repaired pairs of shoes.
Today, Mario Shoe Repair proudly operates in Sydney, bringing traditional techniques together with modern service. While our roots are in the workshop, our vision has expanded — we now offer a convenient postal repair service, allowing customers across Australia to access expert shoe restoration no matter where they are.

Meet Mario
Mario’s journey into shoe repairing began long before he ever opened his own shop.
Born in 1968 in South London, he grew up surrounded by the craft, learning the trade from his father at the family shop, Speed Way Shoe Repairs. At just 14 years old, Mario was already working hands-on in the workshop, developing the precision and attention to detail that would define his career.
What started as helping out in the family business quickly became a lifelong passion.
At 24, Mario made the move to Australia, bringing his skills, experience, and strong work ethic with him. Not long after, he established his own business, continuing the tradition of quality shoe repair while building a reputation for reliability and craftsmanship.
With decades of experience behind him, Mario still approaches every repair the same way he did as a teenager — with care, pride, and a commitment to doing the job properly.
